In 1913 part of Great Hewas Mine was prospected with work commencing in 1919 by Kingsdown Mine.

This worked centered on four lodes striking E-W to the south-west of the Wheal Elizabeth section of that mine.

Between 1919 and the closure of the Kingsdown operation in 1926 some 24 tons of black tin per month are said to have been produced.

Remnants of this working can be seen around grid reference SW967501.
