Description: "Huntilith" ("Arsenic Silver") A concentric shelly, worm-shaped growth of ged. For centuries, arsenic, dyscrasite and stibarsene in calcite and quartz was referred to as "arsenic silver" (Ag3As) and since 1879, according to Wurtz, also as "huntilith" (Ag.As). The microscopic to submicroscopic fineness of the adhesions as well as tiny admixtures of other minerals such as e.g. B. ged. antimony, d. Silver, galena, pyrargyrite and löllingite prevented a clear characterization. So it was not surprising that traces of iron, antimony, lead and sulfur were repeatedly mentioned in chemical analyses. Neither "Arsenic Silver" nor "Huntilith" are recognized as mineral species today. (LAPIS, 7-8/89, 29)
