Patmos mine contains a 45m shaft with east (19m) and west(100m) facing galleries. The dump (300m3) contains mostly chlorite and/or quartz rich greenschists, with dissiminated and veins/veinlets of pyrite. A small (0,5m3) area richer in chalkopyrite/sphalerite can be found near the shaft.
The Patmos mines is considered part of a regional hydrothermal system dominated by quartz-chlorite-pyrite in a basaltic lava.
