A former small underground Cu-Pb-Ag-Zn-W mine on 40 claims, 7 patented in 1945. Located in the SE ¼ sec. 11 and SW ¼ sec. 12, T.17S., R.30E. (Portal 7.5 minute topo map), approximately 1.5 miles NW of Paradise. Owned at times by Captain Thomas Burns; and, W.M. Boulware (1945). Operated by the Lake Superior Mining Co., the Chiricahua Development Co., and the San Simeon Copper Co.

Mineralization is base metal carbonates and sulfides with spotty, fine-grained, disseminated scheelite in faulted and sheared, shaly, and silicated Pennsylvanian-Permian Naco Group limestone intruded by Laramide or Tertiary granitic rock.

Local structures include intrusive granite, granodiorite in Jhus Canyon, directly north of the mine.

Workings include a 2 shafts and an adit, and a 750 foot crosscut tunnel with a 100 foot winze. The 400 foot deep Mars shaft bottomed in chalcopyrite ore. The other shaft is the 400 foot deep Planet shaft. Both shafts have drifts. Some spotty production of ore occurred in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Location
