A former underground Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au mine group located in the NEΒΌNEΒΌ sec. 24, T.21S., R.14E, on National Forest land. Owned at times, or in part, by Clark & Peterson; Ferry; Blake; Salero Mines Co.; Gardner; Tobin & Pond; Henderson; Kolberg; and the Eureka Mining & Milling Co.
Mineralization is partly oxidized sulfides and sulfosalts, with supergene enrichment of silver, in a crushed, banded quartz gangue, recemented with iron oxide and silica, in a fissure zone cutting Laramide diorite. Strong pyrite gossan.
Workings include shaft operations. Prospected as early as the 1850's and worked intermittently through 1942. Produced some 950 tons of ore averaging about 12% Pb, 22oz. Ag/T, and minor Cu and Au.
