Alteration: Silicification
Deposit: Cinnabar disseminated in silicified rock along the margins of a solution-collapse breccia pipe.
Development: Prospected in late 1960's.
Geology: Clasts of del rio clay, buda limestone, and ash-flo W tuff occur in a solution-collapse sink within the santa elena limestone at this locality. Cinnabar occurs in silicified rocks along the margins of the sink. A previously-described multicolored jasperoid 'dike' is a zone of hydrothermal silicification along the margin of another sink.
