β Actinolite Formula: ◻Ca2(Mg4.5-2.5Fe0.5-2.5)Si8O22(OH)2 |
β Baryte Formula: BaSO4 Description: Most of the fine crystals of baryte occur in metal sulfide veins or Kuroko type deposits. Wide varieties of crystal habits have been reported. Commonly observed habits are platy, rhombic, six-sided or eight-sided forms, depending on the combination of faces. Prismatic crystals elongated parallel to a, b or c axes are also not rare. Very unusual is a habit resembling dodecahedral crystals of cubic system, consisting of well developed (110), (001), (011, (010) and several other faces. Crystals larger than 5 cm in diameter have been found from many localities, including the Kusakura mine |
