A former lode Au mine located in sec. 5, T5N, R12E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) ENE of Mokelumne Hill (town). Operated in the early 1900's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NE and dips SE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an 80 foot deep shaft and a 170 foot adit.
