A Au prospect located in sec. 8, T4S, R28E, MDM, 2.9 km (9,400 feet) S of Casa Diablo Hot Springs, along Laurel Creek, on National Forest land. Owned by Standard Industrial Minerals, Inc. (100.00%) (1997); owned and operated by Royal Gold Inc. (100.00%), Colorado (1997, 1996); owned and operated by Amax Gold, Inc. (100.00%), Colorado (1997). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
The ore body is a hot spring deposit and a lenticular replacement deposit. The primary mode of origin is hydrothermal and the secondary mode is oxidation. Primary ore control was lithology. Local rocks include Quaternary glacial deposits.
