A copper mine, working two NE-trending lodes known as Field's lode (Taylor's lode) and Gozzan lode (King's lode). They were opened up from Field's Shaft (Taylor's Shaft) and Gozzan Shaft, respectively, to the west and east of Tolcarne Road. The sites of both shafts are marked by fairly large dumps.

The mine was later included with Pendarves United Mines. Under the name Tolcarne Mine, an output of 99 tons of black tin and 5,630 tons of 5.5% copper ore is recorded for the years from 1860 to 1870.

Note:
This mine has not to be confused with the Tolcarne Mine at St Day, which later changed its name to West Wheal Jewel. Reports on the occurrence of torbernite and uraninite do not refer to this mine, but to West Wheal Jewel.

The dump of Field's Lode is extensive but comprised almost exclusively of rock with very little metal mineralisation evident. Flourite is abundant in a green colour and occasionally purple but it is gritty and poorly formed. - April 2023.
