The Niquelandia igneous layered complex is made up of a lower sequence, consisting of a basal layered zone (gabbro, peridotites, and pyroxenites), followed by an ultramafic zone (peridotites and pyroxenites), followed in turn by layered gabbros, and an upper sequence, composed of coronitic gabbros and anorthosites and upper amphibolites (Girardi et al. 1986)).
