How to Contributecurious why there's a (2) after my name...

6th Apr 2012 02:30 UTCFrank K. Mazdab 🌟 Manager

I've noticed that for me (and a handful of other other users) there's a (2) after my name. As I doubt there are two people with my name, I'm guessing maybe I messed up when I originally registered (maybe I registered twice?) Not a particularly big deal, but if this was some error on my part and it can be easily corrected by one of the administrators, I suppose I'd rather not stand out anomalously anymore... :)

Yup, seems you registered in 2002, disappeared for 8 years, and came back with a second registration in 2010. So, welcome back! We're happy to have you as a contributor. Old registration now deleted to avoid confusion; luckily there were no photos attributed to that registration.

Done You may need to log in and out a couple of times to clear things.

Thank you for the effort, but the (2) seems persistent despite several logins. I just posted an article that shows it.

Could I have that done as well? I don't have access to the original linked email account. Thanks and sorry for any extra work.

Evan: you want to keep the account with the gmail address and and get the hotmail one deleted?

Yes, please, and thank you very much in advance.

Many thanks, the hated (2) is now gone!

I have that (2) branded on my forehead as well and I'd like it removed with a process that does not involve acid please! When did I first register BTW?

Thanks David for the archival work. I knew it was a while back. I logged out a few times and back in and still getting the 2. I closed the tab down and reopened to no avail. Do I need to do something different?
