Hello All:

I know this is a long shot, but I would like to know if any one can tell me where this specimen of scapolite (I apologize for the lousy photos) is from:

According to the label it's from New Hampshire, but the label also says it's hornblende with biotite. It actually is scapolite (with biotite and minor quartz - verified with XRD).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Frank

Maybe the label got mistakenly swapped and it's not even from NH.

These types of specimens are dime a dozen throughout the Grenville Province and other similar geologic environments. I wouldn't recommend attributing localities.

I figured as much, but thought It was worth a try
