Identity HelpGreen Jade?

Another specimen bought at the local market as Jadeite.

Antigua, Guatemala market.

I read that Jade is often cold and takes a while to heat up in your hands (which this definitely qualifies as).

IF Jade, possibly from Sierra de las Minas or the Rio la Palmilla deposit.

Green with dark (possibly amphibole) crystals throughout.

Very hard - around a 7. Steel knife does not scratch.

No reaction to HCL. No reaction to LW UV light.

Possibly an ultramafic intrusive

what about the mineral does NOT appear to be Jade?

It has the qualifications, hardness, touch, feel, and locality of Jade.

There's tons of the material here, so I find it difficult to believe that someone would waste there time importing a (potentially) more expensive material to sell.

I've collected jadeite in California that looks very similar to your first and third photos. As you say, the qualifications check out.
