Hi

This is a test image of a Dao Ping Mine Pyromorphite of mine, specimen measures 13 x 9 x 2 cms. I've never added epeciemns to Mindat, so I just wanted to see if this one could be placed on the site. I have other images of lead minerals and Alpine material.

Thanks,

Brent Lockhart

Brent, you have a level one membership on mindat. You have attached an image to a thread posting and this is not the same thing as uploading an image to the Mindat gallery. To to that you must follow the directions in the mindat gallery.

Once you have completed the formal upload procedure you image will be reviewed by the experts and if good enough will be added to the mindat gallery. If it is not, it will be placed in your users gallery only. From the example you attached above, I would think it would go immediately to the general mindat gallery where users can search it our and view it. The formal upload procedure makes the images searchable, insures that each has a proper caption and size specification and appropriate copyright.

You should be able to (you've already uploaded one).

Thanks David,

I did upload one photo and it shows on "my page" but I still don't have a user gallery. I thought I had done something wrong.

One photo does not a gallery make.

Hi

Some weeks ago I uploaded a Gypsum from Ludes , Marne, France. But I didn't see this photo in the mindat gallery. It remains in my user's gallery.

(see attached photo)

I wonder why it is not in mindat gallery ?

What's wrong with the quality ?

Is it out of mineralogical scope ?

Is it less mineralogical than a photo of a man washing his car ? (refer to Photo ID: 393211 in midat gallery of the 20th of June 2011)

Regards

Hi Marc,

It should be OK now, the photo was on hold first because the locality wasn't yet in the database.

Jean-Marc added the locality and the photo should show site-wide now.

Amicalement,

Harjo
