Hahahahahahahaha................Next time I lose a needle in a haystack I'm going to call you. You have an eye on you.
Now that you have brought it up, I see what you are talking about. In all truthfulness, I never saw the amethyst geode in the photo or even when I was standing there next to it. I was so excited by the size of the two giant quartz crystals that's all I saw.
I have no idea if amethyst geodes are native to Arkansas or Mt. Ida.
In my defense however, the photo caption read "Notice the gigantic sized quartz crystals behind me". I made no mention of the geode on the floor, the geode on the upper shelf beside the two cut rock slabs or the or the larger quartz crystals jutting out on the lower shelf.
In the future I will be more precise when captioning a photo.
Your friend

but I don't think it is from Mt Ida, I'll try and check when I get home.

If it weren't featured in Glen Worthington's book, and from a trusted source, I would label it from Brazil.

Thank you for your interest. The photo in question clearly showed a huge, maybe six foot tall, semi-clear Quartz Crystal. The photo was taken with me standing beside the crystal for perspective, in a narrow aisle way in the store at location. Also in the photo were a few assorted rocks and minerals on shelves which I certainly could not move for the purpose of taking a photo.
I received several complaints over this photo...............it seems others could not identify a standing giant quartz crystal in relation to other rock.
The photo will not return
Thanks
Frank

to me the complaints of the photo seem to be nitty gritty crap,
imo
