Martin, I love the ice on the leaf...very beautiful....

Yes, this isn't a mineral, but when I saw this specimen I had to post it today (It's also my favorite for the day...why not?!)...for all the naughty children...

It's a lump of coal shale from Barbourville, Kentucky (This lump of coal is approximately 8.7 x 6.2 x 3.2 cm). I collected this specimen on a college field trip in 2004. Happy Holidays from Cleveland, Ohio!

Last year I got I lump of coal for Christmas, although it was not the only thing i got! It was funny because I asked my parents for coal, they were really confused! Haha
