You mean this place? http://www.mindat.org/loc-13867.html Can't find a "bayless" in Mindat where is that?

I suspect that 'Bayless' may be this locality: Baylis Quarry (Bayliss Quarry), Bedford, Westchester Co., New York, USA

Reiner......my mistake....I took the spelling off an old label.....its spelled BAYLIS. Pictures of this unique rose quartz is pictured in James G Manchesters " The Minerals of New York city and its environs" 1931 from the KINKEL feldspar quarry

I collected extensively in the late sixties and early seventies at both locations. Unfortunately none of my rose quartz pieces moved to Arizona; only a nice "columbite. I did see many nice asteriated pieces cut from the rose quartz core. Some good information (although dated) can be found in "Major Pegmatite Deposits of New York State", New York State Museum and Science Service Bulletin No. 408, 1966.
