Are there any good mineral shows ?? I google some and tried to get reply via email to book a exhibition space and 0 reply from all ...

Just wondering if they got soo badly close membership or what ...

I stopped to collect Tourmalines good few years ago, and now I would like to sale it all, and I think best option is Mineral Show.

Thanks for any tips and conclusions

Hi Bart,

Unfortunately, you've just missed a fairly new and good show venue at Leyburn, North Yorkshire (Google that for next year's dates in May).

There are several good mineral shows in the UK - several per year in Oxford, the Bakewell Rock Exchange in October, Sussex in November and several other smaller shows scattered around which are rock-n-gem shows and also include stuff like beads, carvings, etc.

I remember seeing some of your collection (and coming home with one) at Newcastle - it's a very nice collection - and I think the Oxford, Bakewell or Sussex shows are your best bet for that quality of minerals. Google those for dates and contacts...and good luck! I suspect there is a lot of competition for spaces at the better shows.

Hi Becky I have been looking at the uk shows too, most of the time they don't show any exhibitors listed and the sites for the gem and rock shows seem rather poor. But the main reason for writing is because I didn't see any in nor near oxford? I am just west of reading and oxford would be a lot better for me than Kempton or Swansea... do you know te date for next oxford one or a site link?

Many thanks Anne

Many shows have waiting lists for exhibitors wanting to join in, so you may not easily get in.

Anne,

Dale has given you a link to the Oxford shows, which are good. If you can get to Bakewell (Derbyshire) or Sussex, do try to go!

The May show in Leyburn (North Yorkshire) is growing and also very good for minerals. Many of the "rock-n-gem" shows I just skip now, because there are few mineral dealers and a lot of beads, tumble stones, gems and new-age type things. (If you like those things, the shows are fine. If you want minerals and good deals, go to the ones mentioned.) I do hope you get to go.

Hi Bart, Anne and anyone else interested in the Oxford Mineral & Fossil Shows :-)

The link Dale so helpfully suggested isnt ours.

The correct contact details for anyone wanting more information /enquiries / bookings is via our email - oxfordshow@gmail.com where either myself or Sara will be able to help you.

Please be aware (as Jolyon and others have already mentioned) that there is a waiting list for exhibitors / table bookings for all four of our shows. Please don't let that put you off, however, as we do sometimes get spaces become available!

A list of exhibitors at many of our shows is on the website (however those at the next show are sent out just prior to the show via email to those subscribed).

oxfordshows.co.uk ; oxfordshows.com (landing pages) or our main website: www.mineralandfossilevents.co.uk

The next show is in a few weeks time on Sunday May 13th, Exeter Hall, Oxford Rd. Kidlington

see you there!

When I posted it originally it did link to the Oxford Show site.

It was definitely not what is there now!

I will delete it from my posting to avoid confusion.
