Improving Mindat.orgremove duplicate image

11th Dec 2018 23:40 UTCDon Saathoff Expert

I uploaded an image today not realizing I had photographed & uploaded an image of the same specimen several years ago. The NEW photo I feel is better (925395). I tried to delete the OLD entry (501927) with no luck. Can I ask a manager to please delete 501927?

Thanks

I think the older one should be kept - it is pretty instructive since a different lighting was used and the zonation is better visible. I made it a child photo of the newer photo.

Of course, if you want to have it deleted, I can do it.

Hello Uwe,

Thank you for your attention to my request....You're quick!! However, you've done the opposite of what I requested - you've made the NEW photo the child of the OLD. If the procedure is difficult just leave it as is and I'll just edit the description directing any viewer to the more accurately color-rendered child photo - if it is easy then make the NEW photo the parent.

Thanks again for your attention.
