Improving Mindat.orgPegmatite commodity: selenium??

19th Aug 2019 15:27 UTCHarold Moritz 🌟 Expert

This pegmatite quarry has selenium listed as the only commodity.
Actually the next level up has the same listing.
Very strange as there are no Se minerals and all the pegs in this area were quarried for quartz, feldspars and muscovite.

Please correct.
Thanks.

Unnamed SE quarry

was wrongly interpreted by some automatic algorithm...

I also changed the name which was a bit silly before.

I gave it that admittedly unappealing generic "placeholder" name because I have yet to find a map or records from the former operators of the quarries in this area (gone for decades now) that provides designations (they must have had called them something, even if it was just numbers). Because most were worked long after the bulk of professional and amateur literature on the area was published, there is little written about them, and this one in particular despite its size. The "SE" referred to its place in the White Rock district, but it is still SE of Middletown, but works either way. Thanks.
