Hi all, i really looked for a picture of this mine for a very long time. It is showing the Ferdinand iron Mine near Breitscheid (Funkenhausen), just a few km from the famous Georg Mine in Willroth. That locality has not bee added yet (which i may be able to do in the future, too much work atm). We are planning to develop the former mine area as a geotouristic infopoint about the history of that mine. I will move the picture accordingly when the entry was created. At the same time i would ask G. Grundmann for permission to use the picture on an info display.Cheers, Roger

Hi all,
Many thanks to Roger Lang. Thank you for your correction. As a result, the photo has even upgraded. I've just changed the location accordingly on I am delighted that the Ferdinand Mine at Breitscheid-Funkenhausen now is documented on a real photo.
I agree with your intended use and source, and hereby authorize you to use my photo.
Best regards, Günter Grundmann

I have added the coordinates as they where estimated.
Added the commodity mined too.
So this locality is complete.

i have edited the loc, as the Ferdinand mine is situated in the municipality of Neustadt (Wied). Although Funkenhausen is the nearest village, it belongs to a different municipality. So according to the general systematic we chose i think that the switch is necessary. Cheers, Roger
