MineralsSuhailite

Does anyone know or have contact with the authors the described suhailite (see below)? They do not indicate what the mineral name is for (person, place, other). I wrote them a couple years ago with no reply.
Maria Colores Ruiz Cruz and Carlos Sanz de Galdeano.Departamento de Química Inorgánica, Cristalografía y Mineralogía, Universidad de Málaga, Spain
Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra, CSIC-Universidad de Granada
Sorry for the messed up formatting. I can't seem to edit pasted material. Argh!

Hi Ronnie,
Here is the message I received:
"Dear Chris,
The article where suhailite was defined is signed by my colleague M.D. Ruiz Cruz and for me. She was who gave its name. In fact, the discovery of the mineral corresponds to her. I was only the field geologist who helped her to collect samples.
The name suhailite was taken because the places where the samples that facilitated the first description of this mineral are situated in the municipality of current Fuengirola, a city located about 23 km to the SW of Malaga. And according to Dr. Ruiz Cruz, the Arabic name for Fuengirola was Suhaila. I didn't do any research about it.
This is all I know. And we cannot ask Dr. Ruiz Cruz since she died a few years ago.
I hope I have helped on this topic.
Best regards from C. Sanz de Galdeano"
A brief Wikipedia search corroborates that the area was known by that name (translated from Arabic as Suhayl in the article).

That's fantastic Chris! Great work - this is the type of info that can easily get lost with time. I thought it was a huge shame that we would not even know what a mineral was named for. I've updated the mineral page.
