Hi all,

I am planning a family vacation, travelling along the spanish/french border from Barcelona through Zaragoza to San Sebastian and back through the french side of the Pyrenees to Lourdes and back to Barcelona. Will be very interested in spending a day or two rockhounding in teh area. any recommendations for collecting site along the way?

Just sent you a PM with some tips.

Would you go and explore some old disused mines, don't forget to take a few pictures:

Guy, half way between Zaragoza and Logroño you will pass close to Navajún where the world finest cubic pyrite is found in a very accessible way even for a familiar collecting. You must contact the owner to book a visit: http://www.piritasdenavajun.com/Presentaci%F3n1en.htm

Most mines in the Pyrinees are currently hardly accessible and hazardous for a familiar visit. Best you will find in the Pyrinees are the high mountain landscapes and the black pine forest. Enjoy them!

I agree that Navajún seem like a good spot for a familly trip.
