It appears to be an Agate with Quartz nodule which are found in the West Country where they are locally called ‘potato stones’ because of their resemblance to potatoes! Above is an example of a small one that was self-collected by me a couple of years ago from Ladye Bay, Clevedon, Somerset, which has been cut and lightly polished to show the attractive banding inside. These English/Welsh geodes are becoming increasing difficult to find, yours looks to be a nice example.

It's locally known as potato stone.
A quartz geode with perhaps some agate.
Keep safe.

I might soak it in soapy water with a bit of bleach for an hour followed by a rinse. Then soak in vinegar for 30 minutes followed by a final thorough rinse. This should brighten it up as much as might be possible with out altering the basic specimen. BOB

If those leprous white patches are a carbonate, then a bath in very weak acid like vinegar will dissolve it off.
