Which one is in error?

I haven't specifically studied the history of Axinite-(Mn), but we can point out numerous old pre-IMA species where the concept of "type locality" has only a rather fuzzy meaning. This situation continued for many minerals until the IMA approval procedures came into effect in the late 1950s, after which type locality became the place the type specimen came from. For many 19th century minerals no type specimen exists. In modern mineralogy the type specimen is important, while type locality has more importance for collectors than mineralogists.
