Well, a glass crystal should be expensive..... and it's monatomic at that (whatever THAT means). At least it's from Nellie's land (is that listed in Mindat's locality list?).

Well, it is April 1st today, perhaps it will be gone tomorrow (although I fear it won't). ;))

"Nellie's Land" That would be a great name for a cannabis dispensary.

Someone in Nellie's Land has apparently been sampling the inventory to come up with this name. No one in a sober condition could possibly do it!

Look at feedback. This seller is either smart or had lots of gullible buyers. Pick one.

Well, nobody knows "whether they are a byproduct of aliens or the seed of unicorns, or just strange glass from long ago..."

I'm leaning towards one of the first two. (ha ha)

I thought "monatomic" simply meant single atoms of certain elements that were not combined into molecules. Like, individual non-bound lead or vanadium ions infused through the glass solution. I could be wrong.

They ARE pretty, but if anyone wants to believe that slag glass has any other properties beyond simply being pretty, that's their choice, I don't judge them, rather I just smile and nod.

But on the other hand, the seller is charging three hundred seventy three dollars for it- (shakes head)

I'd rather spend that kind of money on a really spectacular NATURAL crystal, e.g. a Pariba tourmaline or an exceptionally nice topaz or aquamarine- something non man made anyway (or unicorn or alien made for that matter.)

Like most things they are worth what someone is willing to pay. If you consider paintings (art) there is not much intrinsic value in it and most of the value is due to attributes made up by someone, not too much different from this example.
