Midway Well California Turquoise

I was weeding through some of my unwanted items and came across this box I have had for quite sometime, the label reads : Turquoise Midway Calif. Gift from Will Davis total weight is 185cts. with quarter sized nugget, slabs and pieces.... any ideas on value? Thanks in advance. Jim

How porous is the turquoise? If you put your tongue to it does it stick? How quicklime does the wet spot disappear? Interesting locality, I don't think I have ever heard of it.

Thanks RC. Neither piece sticks to the tongue,the deeper blue with black hairs has a very slow moisture absorbtion rate, the other large nodule a much quicker rate. Jim

I can't see the lot being worth much more than $100 and probably less. You would have to cut cabs out of them to maximize their value and I don't know if a cutter would pay $100 for them.

with your permission...possible turquoise..from the south western usa...
does not melt under heat..sorry about the photo qual.
