Field CollectingGeodes

Hello everyone I was wonder if you guys can help me one more time. I do have 3 days off next week and I would like to spend it of course doing rockhounding. Do you know any location where I can find geodes in the near states. I do not mind drive for hours, but to be honest no exceeding 5 hours.

Thanks again to everyone.

Since this is an international site, it would help to know where you are located.

ARTHUR, There are essentially no geodes anywhere in much of the East.

The closest sites where COLLECTIBLE geodes can RELIABLY be found would be central Kentucky, South of Louisville, South-central Tennessee, SE of Nashville and South-central Indiana from Bloomington to the Ohio River. CHEERS.....BOB

I don't know the current collecting status, but you may want to try Mullica Hill, NJ (click here). While these aren't classic geodes, the voids in the fossil replacements can have a variety of phosphate minerals. Good luck!
