GeneralMR: Mineral Collections in Calif

3rd Sep 2017 02:06 UTCTed Hadley

This is a little bit of a stretch for this forum, but readers should look at the Bay Area Mineralogists section in the Mineral Collections in California supplement to the current Mineralogical Record.

All but one (I think) mineral sample photographed was individually collected by the owner. This is the best coverage I have seen for a club to do self collecting.

This is a great presentation of self collected specimens for a club. Wonderful idea.

Most of the Bay Area Mineralogists (BAM) members not only collected the specimens, but also trimmed, cleaned, and otherwise prepped them. A good number of the photos were taken by the individual collectors as well.
