Just a reminder....November 10 & 11, 2012 are the dates for the NM Mineral Symposium held at the Macy Center on the campus of the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology in Socorro, New Mexico. The will be a total of ten mineralogically oriented presentations and three mining artifact presentations with the featured speaker being Dr. Jean DeMouthe of the California Academy of Sciences. As every year, Dr. Virgil Lueth will host a tour of the Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources Mineral Museum, the "tailgate session" on Friday night at the Comfort Inn & Suites will happen and the Albuquerque Club's Sunday afternoon Silent Auction will take place in the Macy Center.

Online registration is available at or call 575-835-5302 or 575-835-5140.

Cookie & I haven't missed this event once in the last seventeen years.....always fun & educational!!

Thanks for the reminder. Looking forward to the sessions. Do you know if the publishing representatives be setting up their booths as well?

Laird, I'm sorry but I don't know. The SECOND phone number in my post is for information.....give it a try!!

See you at the Symposium, Don. It should be a good one this year! If you have some time, I would like to talk to you about some of the mines around the Organ area.

I would love to attend but alas, I'll be on the opposite side of the continent attending GSA.
The only way I could make it is a nutty cross-country run....
