59th Annual Franklin Sterling Gem and MIneral Show

Franklin Mineral Museum September 15, 2015 06:41PM
Title: 59th Annual Franklin Sterling Gem and MIneral Show

On the weekend of September 26 and 27, the Franklin-Sterling Gem & Mineral
Show will celebrate its 59th year operating one of the largest gem and
mineral shows in northern New Jersey. Featuring over 40 dealers, the show
offers a variety of merchandise including gems, mineral specimens, jewelry,
lapidary items, books, and mining artifacts. The show takes place at the
Franklin Elementary School on Washington Avenue, Franklin Borough, N.J., and
runs Saturday from 9 to 5 and Sunday from 10 to 4.

Inside dealers fill the gymnasium and educational exhibits line the main
corridor. Also located inside are fluorescent mineral dealers and
spectacular displays of Franklin's world-famous fluorescent minerals.
Outside vendors are welcome to set up in the school's ball field an hour
before show opening.

The show is a fundraiser sponsored by the Franklin Mineral Museum, which is
celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In conjunction with the show,
the museum will have a special sale of minerals and merchandise. The
nonprofit, educational museum is located on Evans Street and is open for the
public to visit, explore, and learn about the mining industry.

Free Parking
Adults: $7 and Children $4 (ages 6-16)

For more information about the show, please contact Pat Seger at

FYI - P&E Professional Solutions does not run the outside swap or have any say in the hours of the outside swap. This part of the event is run by the FOMS (Franklin Ogdensburg Mineral Society). FOMS has brought this issue to the table and are working on changing the hours for next year. Advertisement is done one year in advance. You are totally correct that this is iconic event and has been successful for 59 years and is still going strong. This fall event is sold out with a waiting list.

We're looking forward to a great show this weekend. Good weather has been predicted. I have a question, will there be any food served at the show? I know this has been an issue in the past. Thanks! Gary
