Cordless Paint Sprayers are Not Restricted

Perhaps the most important benefit of cordless paint sprayers is that they don’t come with corded electric wires. This means that they can be moved around freely from one point to another during painting. With their non-restrictions comes versatility. This means you can bend them and spray them at different angles. They can be used to spray paints in a round motion, horizontally and vertically. With their cordless design, they can access even the most difficult parts of a painted object such as furniture and decks. With the free movement of cordless paint sprayers, you can also save time because you can move paints to different places quickly. It is safe to also say ha cordless paint sprayers are more economical than corded sprayers, hence you can save more paints all year round.

They Can be Used Without Electricity

The fact that you don’t need electric power to use a cordless paint sprayer is another reason why you should have one over the paint sprayer. In most cases, these cordless tools come with disposable batteries or disposable batteries. Rechargeable batteries only need to be recharged constantly and you can achieve full power charge in a few hours. A full charge, a cordless paint sprayer should work for a few days depending on how long it is used. Though you may eventually spend more on battery replacements in the long run that will depend on how often you use the paint sprayer.

Cordless Paint Sprayers Consume Much Less Power

Cordless paint sprayers are not connected directly to electricity, hence there is every possibility they will consume much less power. Most cordless paint sprayers are designed to consume less power especially when their power level indicators are turning red. There are cordless paint sprayers with power-saving modes.

Ergonomically Better Than Corded Sprayer

Holding a cordless paint sprayer in your hand is more convenient than using a corded paint sprayer. With the absence of a cord, you can hold a cordless sprayer conveniently without putting a strain on the wrist and fingers. Cordless sprayers can enter the most difficult places when painting and that is why it is preferred ergonomically. Though some cordless spray painters may be bulkier than corded options, you need to be sure of the tool you are buying and if possible, practice the handling of the tool to have its feel. Some cordless sprayers have parts that can be adjusted to further suit the needs of the users.

They are the Better Options for HomeOwners

A cordless paint sprayer may be a better option but it is not always the best for all users. They are most suitable for light or occasional users who don't require much power consumption. Cordless paint sprayers are ideal for homeowners because the rechargeable battery may only last for hours and must be recharged further for a few hours before you can use the tool again. This, may not work for commercial painters who may have to handle larger jobs throughout the day. Except you want to use a sprayer with a bigger battery capacity that can last the whole day, you may want to stick to a corded paint sprayer.

Are There Some Downsides to Cordless Paint Sprayers?

Yes, there are downsides to the use of cordless paint sprayers. As mentioned earlier, one of the downsides of cordless paint sprayers is that it runs out of power quickly since it is not connected to an electric source. You will need to recharge your cordless paint sprayer constantly before you use it.

Another downside to the cordless paint sprayer is that it is quite expensive. it is more expensive than the average corded paint sprayer. If you consider the amount of money you will spend on battery replacement in the long run, that will add quickly to your costs of maintenance. While the lower to middle-end cordless paint sprayers are not very expensive, their premium or high-end options do cost much more.

One downside of cordless paint sprayer is that it requires more delicate care since it can be used freely with no restriction, which means it will be exposed to more risks. This means you may end up repairing a cordless paint sprayer more frequently than corded sprayers.

Cordless Paint Sprayer- The Bottomline

Now that you are aware of the benefits and demerits of indoor paint sprayer or cordless paint sprayer, you should have made up your mind on what to do by now. Don’t allow the few downsides of cordless paint sprayers to make you rescind your decision to go for it. There are many instances where you wouldn’t have access to a constant electricity supply and your corded sprayer may become useless. Some experts may also recommend that you have both corded and cordless paint sprayers in your collection and especially when the electricity supply is unstable.  It is also important that you read product reviews on available cordless paint sprayers before making your final choice. The more you know about a product the better you can handle its specific needs.

Hi everyone, I was very surprised this afternoon when moving a big Hanksite (San Bernardino Co., California) crystal from a cabinet shelf to another. In the base of the crystal I found a small water puddle. What is the best way to preserve this specimen? In an hermetic box? With hair spray? ...? Your comments will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Coat it with oil, and keep it in a sealed dry container.

Don't use hair spray or lacquer in this case. A long time ago I worked in the mineral department of the San Diego Natural History Museum, and there was a huge hanksite crystal that was deteriorating, so I tried to save it by coating it with lacquer. Big mistake! Humidity eventually got behind the lacquer coating, which started to flake off in patches. The crystal looked like it had leprosy. Most people nowadays use oil, not a perfect solution to the problem but an oily crystal looks better than a leprotic one.

The cause of hanksite's problems is that it is not stable at surface pressures, so it only grows in deeper levels of salt lakes where there is some extra pressure, never on the surface. That extra necessary pressure is hard to duplicate in a collection or display situation. The best we can do is keep humidity away from it.
