Name:
Named in honor of John "Jack" Bernard Jago (1 April 1909, Livorno, Italy - 2001), lawyer and amateur mineral collector from San Francisco, California, USA. He travelled through Europe and Africa visiting famous localities and assembled what was considered one of the finest private mineral collections in the late 1970s. The name recognizes the research funding he provided to the Swedish Museum of Natural History for the study of Långban minerals.
