Name:
Named by A.C. Roberts, A.P. Sabina, M. Bonardi, J.L. Jambor, R.A. Ramik, B.D. Sturman, and M.J. Carr in 1986 for the type locality of Mont Royal. It is one of the Monteregian hills and a prominant landmark in Montreal, which itself is named after the hill.
Probably related to the dresserite group.
