Named in honour of Charles Stuart Ney (1918-1975), Canadian exploration geologist. He was District Manager for Kennco Explorations (Western) Ltd. and later Quintana Minerals Corp. and was in charge of early exploration of the Lime Creek molybdenite deposit.
