Named in 2009 by Anthony Robert Kampf in honor of Miguel Romero Sanchez [1926 Oaxaca, Mexico - January 8, 1997 Tehuacán, Pueblo, Mexico], chemist, agribusiness leader, politician, and philanthropist. The Miguel Romero Award is hosted by the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society.
Hureaulite Group.
Mn analogue of sainfeldite. Known as a synthetic compound (Stock et al. 2002).
Note: The samples from the Veta Negra mine, Chile, were originally labeled "villyaellenite".
