The individual minerals are defined by the dominant elements in the A, Z ( = IMA C position) and the dominant (OH),F and Clion. The most common dominant elements in the various positions are:
A position: Na or K dominant
Z2+ position (= IMA C2+ position): Mg or Fe2+ dominant
Z3+ (= IMA C3+) position: Al or Fe3+ dominant
W position: (OH) or F dominant
