About Uranmicrolite (of Hogarth 1977)Hide

Formula:
(Ca,U,Na)2-x(Ta,Nb)2(O,OH)7
U may to predominate in the A group, but in such cases x is always >1, what transforms such minerals in "zero-valent dominant" Microlite.
Colour:
Yellowish-brown, greenish-brown, brownish-black, yellow
Lustre:
Waxy, Greasy
Hardness:
Crystal System:
Isometric
Name:
Named as a supposed uranium-bearing variety of microlite.
The uranmicrolite species of Hogarth (1977) and the “djalmaite” of Guimarães (1939) are not rich enough in U to warrant a status as a separate species (Atencio et al. 2010). Included are the samples described as uranmicrolite by Baldwin (1989), Rub et al. (1998), Tindle & Breaks (1998), Novák & Černý (1998), Zhang et al. (2004), Breiter et al. (2007), van Lichtervelde et al. (2007), Uher et al. (2007).
