Named in 1983 by B. V. Chesnokov, V. A. Valisov, G. Y. Cherepivskaya, and M. G. Gorskaya in honor of Sergei L'vovich Ushkov (Сергея Львовича Ушкова) (1880 Russia - 26 October 1951 Russia), naturalist who studied the Il'men National Forest.
Isostructural with:
Occurs as short, striated bladed crystals with acute terminations.
