Name:
Named in honor of Alexei Andreevich Yaroshevsky (6 September 1934, Moscow, Russia - ), geochemist and professor in the Department of Geochemistry, Faculty of Geology of the Moscow State University.
Chemically related to averievite. In this terms also comparable to engelhauptite and leningradite. Very rare.

The structure has corrugated layers coplanar with ac, comprising chains of edge-sharing flat Cu-centered squares. The neighboring chains link via groups of three squares, while the neighboring layers are connected via pairs of CuO4Cl polyhedra and isolated vanadate tetrahedra.
