Polymorph of:
Crystallographically fits to synthetic α-MnSiO3 and thus possibly represents the Mn analogue of pseudowollastonite.

Found as grains, in the upper part of Liassic crinoidal limestones of the Chochołowska valley, Western Tatra Mts., Poland. The manganese limestones contain calcite, "manganocalcite", rhodochrosite and Mn oxides.
