Isostructural with:
A nanophase being a precursor to goethite, of guyanaite-type structure. Intermediate between feroxyhyte and goethite. Found together with feroxyhyte, ferrihydrite, and goethite, in Fe-rich freshwater nodules.

The structure is based on single chains of edge-sharing FeO6 octahedra and is thus different from goethite, but resembles HP polymorphs of FeOOH and InOOH.
