About LamproiteHide

A poorly defined group of potassic to ultramafic, dark-colored hypabyssal or extrusive, volcanic to pyroclastic rocks, usually in dykes and pipes. A group name for such rocks rich in potassium and magnesium; also, any rock in that group, such as madupite, orendite, fitzroyite, verite, cedricite, or wyomingite.
