About Charnockitic suite
A group of metamorphic or igneous rocks, all being coarse-grained, orthopyroxene-rich quartzofeldspathic rocks, formed at high temperature and pressure.
They have a contentious origin, some probably by melting of dry rocks, thus be strictly igneous granitoids, but others appear to be highly metamorphosed metasediments (regionally metamorphosed granofels).
They are usually banded and intermixed with other metasedimentary rocks.
