Name:
Named for the Tambo Mine, Chile, where it was discovered.
Closely related to metatamboite, which is a monohydrate equivalent of tamboite; chemically somewhat similar to poughite. The hydroxytellurate group in tamboite and metatamboite seems to be unique among minerals.
