About Seidozerite Supergroup Hide

Formula:
AP2DP2MH2MO4(Si2O7)2X4+n
The Seidozerite supergroup is divided into four groups: rinkite group, bafertisite group, lamprophyllite group and murmanite group.
The four groups are characterized by having a Ti (+ Nb + Zr + Fe3+ + Mg + Mn) sum of 1, 2, 3 and 4 atoms per formula unit, respectively.

The minerals consist of titanosilicate (TS) and intermediate (I) blocks.
The general formula of the TS block is as follows: AP2DP2MP2MH4(Si2O7)2X4+n, where MH2 and MO4 are cations of the H and O sheets; MH is Ti, Nb, Zr, Y, Mn, Ca + REE, Ca; MO is Ti, Zr, Nb, Fe3+, Fe2+, Mg, Mn, Zn, Ca, Na; AP and DP are cations at the peripheral (P) sites: Na, Ca + REE, Ca, Zn, Ba, Sr, K; X are anions: O, OH, F, H2O; X4+n = XO4 + XPn, where n = 0, 1, 1.5, 2, 4; XP = XPM and XPA: apical anions of MH and AP cations located at the periphery of TS.

There are currently 45 members of the supergroup.
