Name:
The name, given by Broegger in 1921, is for the locality Damkjern (or Damtjern), Fen complex, Norway.
A melanocratic variety of nepheline lamprophyre. A hypabyssal rock containing phenocrysts [glossary item missing] of biotite and titanian augite in a groundmass of the same minerals with some nepheline, calcite and k-felspar, perovskite, and magnetite.
