Co-described with compositionally similar 'UM1988-17-S:CuFe', and also zincian chalcopyrite, 'zincian high cubanite', pyrite, marcasite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and cubanite, from cored metalliferous sediments.

Single prismatic grain found; size: 20 x 15 microns.

Compare, e.g., chalcopyrite and mooihoekite.
