Name:
Named by the Norwegian geologist Karl Pettersen (1826-1890) for a rock he discovered in 1883 close to Sagvatnet (Sagelvvatnet), Balsfjord, Troms, Norway.
First Recorded Locality:
A local name for a variety of orthopyroxenite composed of bronzite (= Fe-bearing variety of enstatite) and small amounts of magnesite.
